On Friday October 21st, 2006, Local 373
members came out in force to walk a picket line (in the rain) against Thomas Sipes Demolition. Sipes is a notorious non-union contractor, currently
working to demolish a building in the heart of downtown Pittsburgh to make way
for the new African-American Cultural Center. Twenty-three Local 373
members showed up, and are currently still picketing, stressing how important it
is to not lose the City of Pittsburgh to non-union contractors!

RATS!
On March 4 2006, various union trades participated in this demonstration against MAM
Electric and Lakewood Mechanical, at Carson and 27th Street in the South Side. The rat was displayed to inform the public that
contractors were being utilized that were undermining our wages and conditions.
